Prison is Not Only For the Poor

Philip J. Pierre is destined to be the next prime minister of St Lucia. His stamina and resilience is admirable. He can boast of being vastly experienced in political office.

He should be cautioned against allowing the low standards of his predecessor to encourage him to lower the bar.

He finds himself with the mammoth task of restoring dignity and financial stability to this country.

Pierre must also bring the thieves to account. The people want to see all political thieves successfully prosecuted. Prison is not only for the poor. More than that, the people will demand that the money they stole be paid back.

Addressing the nation on Monday night Philip Pierre promised  to rescue St. Lucia, its people and it’s institutions. We wait with baited breath. If he fails, he too will be called to account.

Pierre assures St. Lucians that he and his team are ready to govern.

One Caribbean Today assures him likewise that we are ready to be a check and balance on his administration.
